The Janitor is a Genius

Above: I''ll say it again. One of the best styles in Edmonton. Nile Chan 5-0.
Stumbled across this the other day. If you're a friend of Nathan's, you might like it.
This guys looks weird, but I always like his tricks.
I have no idea what this is, but it's so crazy it's awesome.

Liars, Cheats, and Thieves

Above: Devin Morrison backlip to tailslide.
I didn't manage to get any decent pics of the Calgary Source guys at last weekend's battle of the shops contest, so here's a sequence of Devin Morrison from last year's contest. Dude is sick!
If you've ever though to yourself, "Wow, I'd really like to see these two photos slightly larger," well now you can! They'll be covering up some holes in the walls, as a very small part of the Liars, Cheats, and Thieves photo show at the ARTery.

One More Try

Above: Jamie gap to over crook.
The annual Edmonton Best of the West shop vs. shop contest hit the Collingwood park on Saturday. Jamie Tancowny killed it in the best trick contest. I think the prize was a generic complete. Scary to think what he'd have tried if there was a grip of cash on the line.

Shane Barlow hard flip over the hubba.

Ben Loates back nose blunt slide.

Mastrovito boosts a boneless.

A not so small pile of money and contraband was gathered as encouragement for Mitch Phillips' best trick attempt.

Mitch loving life after hurling himself down the double set for half an hour. One more try?

The winners circle. Thanks to everyone involved in putting the contest on.

Best of the West

Hey, there's a contest this weekend.

Backyard radical

Above: Aaron Long floats an ollie on his B.C. mini.
Backyard mini ramps and summer just seem to go hand-in-hand to me. However, I guess not everyone agrees, as the bottom picture will attest.
Above: Manitoba massacre
Tim Smith sent me an updated picture of his ramp the other day. Seems that, without warning, his landlord "accidentally" drove a bulldozer over the ramp. Personally, if I'd just driven over someone's ramp, I'd be a little scared that something might happen to my bulldozer, and maybe park it somewhere else. "Yeah, I drove over your ramp. What are you and your big bag of sugar going to do about it?"
Outtakes from the most legendary skate video of all time.

A Fine Line

Above: Kyle Robinson varial heelflip.

You can't dispute that K-Rob can throw it down when he wants to.
John Rattray is rad to watch.

Accordion

A portrait of Neilba and his accordion I shot awhile ago. This was before his non-permanent move to New Jersey.
This is awesome. Now go play in the street!

Cycle Psycho

Above: Willy grind backside revert.
This is a perfect example of why Neilba is one of my favorite skateboarders. Taking dork tricks to another level. Neil's definitely one of Edmonton's most underrated and underground rippers. This ledge also happens to be really close to where Nathan Roline used to live, so you can imagine just how caked in wax it is. Not surprisingly, I find it completely unskateable.
Man, I want to be able to go skateboarding again.

Tancowny Gold

Above: Jamie nurses a slam.
Just got back from Edmonton's Emerica Stay Gold premiere and all I've got to say is Jamie Tancowny is an itty-bitty beast! Fuck yeah Jamie. Well deserved pro model coming his way. The rest of the video was super sick too.
