Brooklyn Street

Above: Matt frontside grind. This little bowl is crazy steep and quick.
After Burnside we headed to the Brooklyn Street DIY spot/park. As surprisingly hard as this little park was to skate initially, it was probably my favorite of the trip. Small gnarly transitions with pool coping. What's not to love?
Above: It was so hot during our visit it felt like we were skating a large frying pan.
Our arrival at Brooklyn Street was pretty epic. Pulling into a parking space, we flung the van's sliding door open only to have our full cooler of beer immediately tumble out onto the sidewalk. We were promptly greeted by a chorus of "Beer down!", from a neighboring window. Discovering that we had parked directly in front of Unheard skateboard distribution, beers were soon being pasted up through the open window.

After the session the Unheard of guys hooked us up with some crazy deals on boards. I think it was also earlier the same day where, while making a stop for gas, we randomly ran into a skate team that had a huge box of Bones wheels and accouterment they were selling at bargain prices in order to finance their own trip.
