Exclusive dramatic details

About a year and a half ago Bill Clinton came to town for a speech at an Edmonton hotel and I was sent to take photos. Media was banned from covering the actual speech, so we all just stood around in the parking lot waiting for him to arrive. There were RCMP and U.S. Secret Service agents all over the place, but it was the Hotel's rent-a-cops that decided to kick us off the property right before Clinton showed up. So the media moved to a nearby parking lot. Eventually he arrived, got out of a car and went in.

After waiting around for much too long, the speech finally ended and Clinton came out a backdoor, waved to a couple people, jumped in his limo and left. When I went to edit the photos I noticed that I had one frame where he was holding hands with someone. I didn't think too much about it at the time, but I'm sure the paper ran the hand-holding photo. A week or so later a photog friend called me from Manitoba saying he had just seen my photo on the cover of the Globe tabloid. Turns out the photo ended up running all over the place, including the TMZ website. Kind of a funny story, but I'm also glad they never gave me a photo credit.
