A friend of mine was giving me grief about going to Winnipeg and only skating the old crusty parks. So, the other day, I drove to a part of town I'm not sure I ever knew existed and checked out the sick little Red River Community Skatepark.

The center of the park looks kind of like a mini Street League course. Cool, but not really my speed, as I can always find a way to hang up and slam.

It was kind of hard to spot, but I think this still sort of counts.

The park has a pretty sick China Banks replica and even has a whale tail.

This thing, however, sticks out like a sore thumb. It's almost like Newline was required by the City to use at least one Barkman obstacle. It's so out of place that I assume it's protecting some sort of vital utility hub. Super fun little park though.
This guy's got a lot of cool photos of Winnipeg's scene, old and new.
I love.
