South to North West

Things no one tells you when you're young ... Go on a road trip. Go now. Right now. It's never going to get easier to drop everything and hit the road with your friends, than right now. You and your buddies are going to grow up, get jobs, one of your friends is going to get married, a couple are going to move away, and a few might even end up with kids. You only have a small window in which you and most of your friends will be unattached, carefree, and underemployed.

After that, it can become next to impossible to pull together a trip. But, miracles do happen and when Mastrovito called me in August and told me of his plan do a five day 3,500+ km round trip to the skateparks of Washington and Oregeon, I was immediately juggling shifts and vacation days in order to make sure I was in the van.
On a completely unrelated side note, if you really want to annoy your friends in this day and age of Facebook, Twitter, instant messaging etc., go on a road trip, shoot a bunch of photos, and then lag for months before posting them on your blog. To be continued ... Soon.
