Cory Forster

I recently got a chance to take part in SBC's 24 hour/36 exposure article. Cory, Mastrovito, Stirling, Jetski, and Bubba came out to give me a hand with it. At the end of the day with some frames still left, we shot a couple pics of Cory kickflipping through a puddle. I was stoked a different version of this photo made it into the SBC article. Thanks to everyone who came out and helped me with this project.
Old but awesome. Save Me.

Marginal Way

Neil pool coping 5-0 in Seattle. We must have drove around for over an hour looking for this place. We kept missing it by a block or two. I was starting to lose my mind towards the end.

Exclusive dramatic details

About a year and a half ago Bill Clinton came to town for a speech at an Edmonton hotel and I was sent to take photos. Media was banned from covering the actual speech, so we all just stood around in the parking lot waiting for him to arrive. There were RCMP and U.S. Secret Service agents all over the place, but it was the Hotel's rent-a-cops that decided to kick us off the property right before Clinton showed up. So the media moved to a nearby parking lot. Eventually he arrived, got out of a car and went in.

After waiting around for much too long, the speech finally ended and Clinton came out a backdoor, waved to a couple people, jumped in his limo and left. When I went to edit the photos I noticed that I had one frame where he was holding hands with someone. I didn't think too much about it at the time, but I'm sure the paper ran the hand-holding photo. A week or so later a photog friend called me from Manitoba saying he had just seen my photo on the cover of the Globe tabloid. Turns out the photo ended up running all over the place, including the TMZ website. Kind of a funny story, but I'm also glad they never gave me a photo credit.

Wall Hangings

Do kids even tape pages from magazines on their walls anymore? I found these in a box the other day. My bedroom wall was pretty much covered by the time I finally left home.

How crazy is this Jeremy Wray kickflip?

I was a huge Kris Markovich fan. He was skating super fast and doing crazy gaps and rails when it was cool to go slow and do pressure flips.

I've always been a fan of Daniel Harold Sturt's photos as well. Pretty sure he shot both of the photos above.

Everyone was a Matt Hensley fan. How could you not be?

Gonz doing an impossible over a curbcut gap. Pretty sure he's riding one of those Blind boards making fun of Powell. I always wanted one of those.

Tancowny

I took this picture of Jamie right before he blew up. It was an accident that he was wearing a Plush shirt with a graphic of made up punk bands and that Avenue skatepark was having a show of band posters. I shot it last minute for some magazine, but I guess I was the only one stoked on it because it was never used anywhere.

Swaim

Derek Swaim vert kickflip to fakie at the Biodome ramp. I'd heard about this ramp for a long time. I didn't really believe the reports of a biodome out in the middle of the woods. The whole way there I kept telling myself, "Don't get too excited. It's going to suck. It's going to suck." And then there it was.
